Only one of my dogs destroys any type of bed by digging, indoors or outside. She’s never chewed them, only digs them to shreds even with a blanket on top. None ( even pricey ones ) last more than about 2 months tops. She gets plenty of exercise. Thanks for the info on these two beds. I’m definitely going to invest in a primo pad!
If you have a determined enough dog the gorilla bed will not hold. My husky got to hers and customer service sucks and havent replaced the bed even being in warranty period. It took months for them to send me a cover I didn’t ask for. We ended up getting a k9 ballistic one instead that has a metal frame and she hasn’t been able to destroy it. Haven’t checked out the primo pad but my girl likes to dig on her stuff too 😂
Just offering up a review as this video inspired me to invest in Primo pads for my Great Dane who chews every bed, and my Lab who digs a whole in every bed. While it held up to the chewing Dane for going on 5 weeks, it did not hold up any longer than any other bed for my digging Lab (it is kaput just over 30 days and just out of warranty), and their warranty leaves much to be desired (basically buy another one if they destroy it within 30 days, or return it unused and pay to ship it back). Why would you buy another one if the first did not hold up? So the search continues for a quality crate pad that holds up to digging and scratching.
Did you happen to compare the K9 Ballistic pad with the Gorilla or Primo? I have Primo Pads in all my girls’ crates, and they’re great. I thought it would be all that we needed. Unfortunately, she’s been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and I believe she may need a little more of an orthopedic option. The Primo is quite stiff. She’s more of a digger than a chewer. She likes to fluff her bed. Maybe I could just top her Primo off with something for support. It’s kind of expensive to start all over again. Appreciate any input. Good video. Thank you.
