Dogs must have grains or they develop heart problems, google it . Also , you can buy organic grains
If this helps someone, what I home cook :
I pressure cook 4kg of whole, skinless, chicken breasts, each having the rib bones and main wing bone. They’re easily cut up into small pieces with scissors when cooked, the bones are soft enough. To that I add microwave cooked butternut and carrots (micro cooking keeps all the vitamins), and boiled brown lentils. I mix all together and spoon it into zip lock bags then frozen to make 2 weeks of food for 2 dogs. That mix is added proportionally to a half cup of kibble presoaked in water. I add a boiled egg, a couple of chopped parsley leaves, dandelion leaves, and 2 chopped slices cucumber, plus a teaspoon of olive oil. That’s lunch. Breakfast is a half cup of kibble dry, for teeth cleaning, a multivit supplement, and a dog biscuit. Supper is anything going, fish, sweet potato or rice, green beans microwaved.
So if grainn free is not good for your dog, but you’ve been told he needs to be on grain free because he has allergies and he can’t have eggs, I was told and he can’t have chicken, I was told and there’s chicken buyproduct pretty much in every dog. Food out there very hard to not find it in it what to suggest to feed them, because groceries are expensive here in Canada, and my dog is 16, he’s over 16 years old, he has failing kidneys. I’ve been giving him hemp oil, which has stopped his seizures. I have colloidal silver that helps with any infections. Because he does not have good teeth and they won’t remove any teeth. Because of his heart condition, so I’m kind of at a point where I’m doing everything I can to keep him comfortable. And he is not in pain, he does not seem to be showing any Symptom as to that effect but he has been on grain free food for several years now
Peas, lentils, potatoes, grains…carbs don’t belong in a dog! They carnivores.
